After serving 23 years in the Royal Marines Commandos, Coach Jimmy has transitioned from a life of elite military service to full-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaching. With a distinguished military career that includes seven operational tours and the prestigious role of Royal Marines Physical Training Instructor, Jimmy brings a wealth of experience in leadership, physical conditioning, and combat sports.

Jimmy’s journey in martial arts began in the boxing ring, where he represented the Royal Navy and earned a reputation for grit, discipline, and precision. His passion later evolved into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a discipline he fell in love with instantly. Just four years into his training, he set a goal to one day open his own BJJ academy—a vision now being realised as he steps into his next chapter.

As the former Head of Royal Marines Close Combat, Jimmy has trained, mentored, and coached thousands of Royal Marines and US Marines, instilling toughness, tactical skill, and resilience. His ability to lead, teach, and inspire has earned him respect on both the battlefield and the mats.

A dedicated competitor, Jimmy has tested himself at every belt level, securing podium finishes at some of the sport’s most prestigious international tournaments, including the IBJJF World Masters, Pans, Europeans, and various Opens across the UK and US. His accomplishments reflect both technical mastery and the relentless drive that defines his approach to life and BJJ.
